Astigmatism is a condition in which the cornea is not symmetrical. The eyeball is uneven, therefore light rays are not focused on a single point with some rays focused on nearer points and some far, resulting in blurry vision.
However, blinking does help in maintaining the cornea’s symmetrical curve so small amounts of astigmatism usually don’t lead to vision problems.
